Back by popular demand, starting on Sunday, June 18th and concluding with an investor pitch on July 30th, both at American University's Innovation Center, CONNECTdmv will re-launch Projects for Change, the 3rd annual summer social entrepreneurship program for all high-schoolers (i.e., not just students of color).

This free, 7-week, in-person and online (hybrid) program features teams of students across the country working closely to create their passion projects focused on social justice, racial justice, and/or other social impact entrepreneurship endeavors. Projects can be either for-profit or nonprofit-based innovations.

Using a college curriculum overseen by a current college professor, student teams will work closely with a mentor to identify a problem or opportunity, confirm the issue through stakeholder interviews, create an innovation, and receive seed funding after pitching to a panel of investors. In past years representatives from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ashoka, and Calvert Investments have been on the panel.

This program is open to all high school students in the DMV area and because Zoom classes are interspersed with live, in-person sessions, we will once again be welcoming students from all over the USA.
