Where to Start in the Fall of 2021
A Plan for Assessing Student Learning
to Inform the Next School Year

Back to School

As schools plan to re-open in the fall of 2021, they will be facing a "back-to-school" season unlike any other. Students may have wide gaps in understanding, requiring schools to rethink their routines of years past, including what material to review, when to start introducing new content, and even how to organize students into classrooms. The key to success will be knowing what students know, which will likely be tricky given the interruptions in learning and the need to abbreviate lessons and units given the time constraints of hybrid and virtual instruction. In this session, experts from CenterPoint Education Solutions will share a vision for an assessment that can help you “know what your students know.”

Elements include a combination of  (1) a light touch spring diagnostic so schools know where students are at the end of year to inform summer planning, (2) a deeper back-to-school diagnostic that will provide a clear starting line for every student at the beginning of the year, and (3) a benchmarking tool that will give insights on how students are growing throughout the year.

The goal is to maximize the utility of the assessments you use so that you can minimize the time spent testing. We will share templates, tools, and insights that schools can use as they do this planning work.

This event is for AISGW members only. Schools are encouraged to send a team of educators to maximize their learning from this program.

Cost: $100 per school, invoiced separately after the event takes place.
