This program, hosted jointly by AISGW and AIMS is designed to help your Return-To-School task force think through the health and safety aspects of bringing student back to campus. We will be joined by Dr. Lucy McBride (Internist with Foxhall School), Laurelle McCready (Associate Head of School for Finance and Operations at The Lab School) and Eric Osberg (Director of Finance and Operations at Stone Ridge).  Lucy will take us through the health considerations in bringing groups of students back together, Laurelle will present several methodologies for space considerations given social distancing requirements, and Eric will guide us through an approach to space use for the youngest learners in the building.

Dr. Lucy McBride was born and raised in Washington, DC. She graduated with honors from National Cathedral School, Princeton University, and Harvard Medical School. She did her medical training--internship and residency--at Johns Hopkins Hospital, then spent several years on the Emergency Medicine faculty at Hopkins.

Since 2006, she has practiced internal medicine at Foxhall Internists, PC, with special interests in hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, and women’s health. Her focus is on treating the whole person, addressing mental and physical health in tandem to optimize health and wellbeing.  Since the COVID pandemic hit in March 2020, she's been writing a daily newsletter to her patients, and it has gone "viral." She's now reaching thousands of people around the country and overseas with her daily missives: real-time, fact-based medical information and guidance on getting through the pandemic, physically and mentally. Lucy is board certified in Internal Medicine. She lives in the District of Columbia with her husband and three teenage children (all products and beneficiaries of DC independent schools).

Laurelle McCready is the Associate Head of School for Finance and Operations at The Lab School of Washington.  In that role she drives financial sustainability, leads risk management, and visualizes, acquires and strengthens the technology and facilities infrastructure for an organization serving 375 students with learning differences in 1st through 12th grades.  Prior to Lab, Ms. McCready served in similar functions for National Presbyterian School and The National Presbyterian Church.  From 1997 to 2001 Ms. McCready opened, built, and managed an office of monster.com in New York City, focusing on mid-market recruitment, and executive search. In the 1990s she focused on not-for profit organizational capacity-building – leading global marketing for TechnoServe, an organization which works with individuals in the developing world to build competitive farms, businesses and industries.  She also served as Chief Financial Officer of the Diocese of Mount Kilimanjaro in Arusha, Tanzania. Prior to moving overseas, Ms. McCready was a corporate finance investment banking officer for two Wall Street firms, Blyth Eastman Dillon and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. Laurelle received a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephens College.  

Eric Osberg is Director of Finance & Operations at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school in Bethesda for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational early childhood program serving children three-months old through Kindergarten age. He oversees the work of the business office, facilities, human resources, and auxiliary programming. In addition to long-range financial and campus planning, his daily priorities are to safeguard the financial health of the School, serve parents, and ensure that the School’s day-to-day operations run smoothly. Prior to joining Stone Ridge in 2010, Eric spent eight years overseeing finance and operations for an educational think tank in Washington, DC, the Thomas B. Fordham Institute. He earned his MBA at Stanford University and undergraduate degrees in Finance and Economics at the University of Virginia. His wife, Christina, graduated from Stone Ridge and his two daughters are Stone Ridge students.
